ASL Interpreter | Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available to support K-12 students in a public school setting located in Mount Pleasant, SC. This contracted role offers a comprehensive professional experience from January 7, 2025, through May 29, 2026, working within the North Charleston area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for students and staff to facilitate effective communication.
• Support educational access for K-12 students who rely on American Sign Language (ASL).
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance the learning environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical codes related to the profession.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong preference for candidates with an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, ideally with 0-2 years or more of school interpreting.
• Ability to work full time and be present on-site to meet the needs of students and staff.
• Excellent communication skills and cultural competency with Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.
