A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available to support two high school students—one in 9th grade and one in 11th grade—within a K-12 educational setting in North Charleston, SC. This contract role is onsite only and offers the opportunity to work closely in a 1:1 capacity, ensuring effective communication access for students who rely on sign language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for two high school students during the school day
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions
- Collaborate with educators to support the students' academic progress and engagement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3.5 EIPA preferred but not mandatory
- Prior experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings is ideal
- Ability to work full time onsite in North Charleston, SC
- Strong understanding of sign language and effective interpretation techniques for K-12 students
