Sign Language Interpreter in Olathe, KS

A well-established elementary school in the Olathe, KS area is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide clear and effective communication support for students. This is a contract position running through the current school year (CSY), with an opportunity to work onsite primarily with a 1:1 elementary student. Flexibility in scheduling is available, with options to work 3 or 5 days per week during school hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Early release on some Wednesdays at 2:00 PM is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and student support activities.
• Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and other staff members.
• Provide consistent 1:1 onsite interpreting service, with some virtual opportunities available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays if preferred.
• Adapt interpretation style to meet the individual needs of the student and educational environment.
• Collaborate with educational staff to support an inclusive classroom experience.
