Educational Interpreter - Renton, Washington

A contract position is available for a Sign Language Interpreter to support middle school students within an educational setting in Renton, WA. This full-time role requires dedication to facilitating clear communication between students and staff, contributing to an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide interpreting services during classroom instruction and school activities for middle school students.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and students to ensure effective communication.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, including the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA).

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting within educational settings.
• Possession of an EIPA score or willingness to take and obtain the EIPA certification within the school year.
• Understanding of the developmental needs of middle school students.
• Ability to work full-time (6.5 hours per day) from the start date through June 16, 2026.
• Commitment to timely communication and collaboration with educational teams.
