Sign Language Interpreter in Richlands, NC

Make a real impact in education by supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter for a contract opportunity in coastal North Carolina. You’ll work one-on-one with a student for the remainder of the school year, with the possibility to renew for the following year. Qualifications/Experience:

• Hold a 3.5 or higher EIPA score or possess RID certification
• Proven experience providing sign language interpretation in educational settings
• Skilled in conveying spoken English into sign language and vice versa for effective communication
• Familiarity with IEPs and supporting accessibility in classroom environments
• Adaptable, professional, and dedicated to fostering a positive learning experience

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary interpreter for a student, ensuring clear communication between the student and staff
• Accurately interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities
• Work collaboratively with teachers and education professionals to support student inclusion
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions
• Contribute to the student’s academic and social success by providing both in-class and extracurricular interpretation as needed

This contract runs from now through the end of the school year, with opportunities to extend. You’ll join a welcoming educational environment, conveniently located near the beautiful North Carolina coast.
