Educational Interpreter - Statesville, NC

A licensed Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide high-quality interpreting services in an elementary school setting. This contract role supports effective communication for students, ensuring they have equal access to classroom instruction and school activities.

Location: Statesville, NC
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM with a 30-minute paid lunch (35 hours per week)
Contract Duration: ASAP start through May 27, 2026
Assignment Type: Onsite, full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for elementary students in classroom and school environments
• Arrive prior to student arrival each day, fully prepared to support their communication needs
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and support personnel to facilitate effective educational experiences
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards during all assignments
• Adapt interpreting methods to fit individual student needs and educational settings

Qualifications:

• Licensed Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• RID certification holders are also eligible to apply, even without an EIPA score
• Demonstrated experience with elementary school caseloads preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to commit to onsite presence and punctual daily arrival
