A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available for the 2025/2026 school year, located in Tacoma, WA. This contract role supports a high school student aged 20 who is receiving Transition Services. The position requires a commitment of 37 hours per week, with the contract running from ASAP through the end of the school year, and potential for continuation into summer if the student’s needs extend beyond the academic year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
  • Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting
  • Experience working with Transition Services students preferred
  • Ability to commit full-time hours (37 per week)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized sign language interpretation to facilitate effective communication for the student
  • Support the student’s participation in educational activities, ensuring access to the curriculum and school environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and transition service coordinators to meet the student’s individual needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional standards at all times
  • Adapt interpretation strategies as required throughout the academic and potential summer period
