A school district in Tracy, CA is seeking six Sign Language Interpreters to support K-12 students during the current school year under a contract agreement. The positions include four to five full-time roles primarily working in special education classrooms and two part-time roles in general education settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and effective sign language interpretation to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
  • Facilitate communication in classroom environments, ensuring equitable access to curriculum and instruction.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to adapt and modify lessons as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality, adhering to established ethical standards.
  • Work onsite exclusively, with no remote work option available.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 4.0 or higher is required.
  • Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably with mild to moderate special education students.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are highly desirable due to a predominantly Spanish-speaking student population (approximately 90%).
  • Flexibility to work either full-time or part-time hours based on assignment.
  • Commitment to supporting diverse learners in an inclusive environment.

Location:
Tracy, California – Onsite assignments within a K-12 public school district.
