ASL Interpreter | Trenton, New Jersey

A school district in Trenton, NJ is seeking a contracted Sign Language Interpreter to provide educational interpreting services for one student. This role supports effective communication and access to the curriculum for a student requiring sign language interpretation during the school day.

Hours and Dates:

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:45 PM
• Assignment continues through June 25th

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver clear, accurate educational interpretation between educators and the student
• Facilitate student access to instructional content in compliance with classroom protocols
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance communication strategies
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications:

• Valid EIPA NJ certification meeting the state’s standard for educational interpreters
• Prior experience working as a sign language interpreter within a K-12 educational setting is preferred
• Ability to work reliably within scheduled hours and adhere to school policies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information: The district requires vendor approval prior to conducting interviews. Efforts to complete the vendor list process are currently underway, and candidates will be contacted once this is finalized.
