This opportunity is for a Sign Language Interpreter position supporting K-12 students in Tulsa, OK. The role involves direct one-on-one interpreting with high school students, including a part-time assignment with a Severe and Profound needs student. The position is contracted for the current school year (CSY).
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one sign language interpreting services to high school students.
- Assist a student with severe and profound needs part-time (Monday, Thursday, and Friday).
- Accompany the student to a nearby building for additional support as needed.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with educational staff to facilitate student participation.
- Adhere to scheduled hours, approximately 8:40 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday through Friday (35 to 37.5 hours per week).
Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher or RID/NAD certification required.
- Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) Level III or above.
- Minimum of 2 years sign language interpreting experience preferred.
- Ability to support students with diverse communication needs.
- Reliable transportation to travel between nearby buildings.
Location:
- Tulsa, Oklahoma area, specifically supporting students in nearby educational settings within less than a mile radius.
