This contract opportunity calls for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential services within a dynamic K-12 school district located in Burnsville, NC. Serving primarily one elementary school, this role also involves supporting preschool-aged children and potentially delivering services at daycare centers throughout the community. The position is full-time for the school year (CSY) and offers the chance to work collaboratively with three other SLP professionals within the district.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech and language therapy to students ranging from ages 2.5 years through 12th grade.
- Manage a caseload typically consisting of 40-50 students, focusing on early childhood development as well as K-12 educational needs.
- Provide therapy both within the school setting and at off-site locations such as local daycare centers.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow SLPs and educational staff to foster student growth and communication skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license and certification (SLP - CCC preferred).
- Experience working with early childhood through K-12 populations.
- Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet diverse student needs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to travel within the district and to daycare sites as needed.
Location:
- Based primarily at an elementary school in Burnsville, NC with services extending to six schools across the district.
