An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled candidate seeking a part-time position in a supportive educational environment. This role focuses on providing specialized services to students with diverse communication needs from March 2025 through June 2025.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Experience working in school settings, particularly with K-12 students
- Familiarity with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educational staff and families
- Strong assessment and intervention skills for complex communicators
- Knowledge of visual and hearing deficits and their impact on learning
Location:
- Glen Ellyn, IL
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for students with communication disorders
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Maintain a caseload of 15-20 students, focusing on their unique needs
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student progress
- Provide guidance and support in the use of AAC devices and other communication tools
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust therapy as required
