This opportunity is designed for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with experience in healthcare or school settings, including teletherapy. Serving a Therapeutic Day School environment catering to K-12 students with diverse needs such as autism, intellectual disabilities, and social-emotional challenges, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding experience.

Location: Aurora, IL
Position Type: Contract, Full-Time
Duration: Current School Year (CSY) with Extended School Year (ESY) options
Caseload: 20-30 students
Schedule: 8/12/25 – 6/5/26 (CSY); ESY from 6/22/26 – 7/17/26

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech therapy services to students with complex communication needs including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to students with autism and intellectual disabilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Utilize teletherapy when appropriate, with a preference for onsite services during the school year.
  • Monitor and document student progress in compliance with school and regulatory standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SLP with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Speech Language Pathology Assistant credentials.
  • Experience working in pediatric healthcare, school-based settings, or with teletherapy.
  • Strong background in AAC and behavioral interventions preferred.
  • Familiarity with serving students with autism and intellectual disabilities.
  • Classroom or therapeutic day school experience highly valued.
  • Flexibility to provide onsite services during the academic year; virtual services may be considered closer to the school year start.
