A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available at a K-5 elementary school serving a diverse student population, including sub-separate ASD programs. This contract position spans the entire school year and is located in Cambridge, MA.
This role involves working collaboratively alongside another licensed SLP and a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) within the school, providing comprehensive speech and language support. The ideal candidate will have a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and demonstrate strong expertise in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and effective behavior management strategies is highly valued to meet the unique needs of the student population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments for K-5 students, including those in ASD sub-separate programs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans addressing communication needs
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote consistent therapeutic approaches
- Utilize AAC strategies and behavioral techniques to support student progress
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid SLP credential with CCC certification
- Experience working with children diagnosed with ASD
- Proficiency in AAC methods and behavior management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team collaboration
- Commitment to student-centered therapy and inclusive educational practices
