Apply NowA passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available within an Early Childhood educational setting serving children ages 2-5. This role focuses on delivering specialized speech and language intervention to support early learners with diverse communication needs, fostering their success both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in early childhood students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) alongside multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide direct therapy through individual sessions, small groups, and integrated classroom activities.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to embed speech and language objectives into everyday learning.
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed and compliant documentation.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition planning.
- Support early intervention and preschool special education initiatives, including inclusive classroom environments.
- Engage in professional development to stay abreast of current best practices and legal standards in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure and/or certification (ASHA CCC-SLP or CFY eligible; relevant state education certification if applicable).
- Experience with preschool-aged children, preferably within public school or early intervention contexts.
- Solid understanding of child development principles, early literacy, play-based approaches, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education eligibility processes.
Location: Camden Wyoming, Delaware – Early Childhood School setting.
