This full-time, onsite Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role is based in an elementary school setting serving students from Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. The contract position spans the current school year and offers a meaningful opportunity to work closely with young learners, including those in specialized autism classrooms.
Responsibilities include delivering speech-language services to a weighted caseload of approximately 80 students. The role requires providing both ongoing support and compensatory services to account for a gap in SLP services since October. The school supports students with diverse communication needs, including those who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, especially within the Pre-K autism classroom and K-5 autism classrooms.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
- Proven experience working in elementary school settings with early childhood through grade 5 students
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and specialized communication strategies
- Experience supporting students who use AAC devices is highly valued
- Ability to manage a weighted caseload efficiently and provide compensatory services as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
