An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in a K-12 school setting located in Detroit, MI. This contract position spans the school year and offers the chance to work closely with students across various grade levels to support their communication and language development. The role involves comprehensive therapeutic and evaluative responsibilities within an educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough student evaluations to determine speech and language needs
- Complete Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) reports accurately and timely
- Attend and actively participate in educational meetings to collaborate on student progress and intervention strategies
- Provide direct therapy services aligned with students’ educational goals
- Maintain documentation and records related to therapy sessions and student progress
- Work five days per week, seven hours per day, adhering to the school calendar
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Experience working with pediatric populations in school or healthcare settings
- Familiarity with both healthcare and educational speech-language pathology practices
- Knowledge of school-based speech-language pathology processes and special education laws
- Strong evaluation, documentation, and communication skills
