An educational opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with experience in school settings, healthcare, pediatrics, teletherapy, or clinical fellowship year (CFY). This position focuses on delivering specialized speech and language services within an elementary school environment serving a diverse student population, primarily those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Location: Elizabeth, NJ
Schedule: 2 days per week, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Duration: Contract for the current school year (CSY)
Caseload: 19 elementary students, mostly with ASD

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments and designing individualized treatment plans aligned with students’ educational goals.
  • Providing direct speech-language therapy to students with a variety of communication disorders, especially those on the autism spectrum.
  • Collaborating with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and communication development.
  • Delivering services through in-person sessions and incorporating teletherapy techniques as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and progress notes compliant with school policies and regulatory guidelines.

Desired qualifications or experience:

  • Valid SLP certification (Certificate of Clinical Competence - CCC) or current Clinical Fellowship Year status.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in school-based or healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with speech-language pathology services for students with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Ability to deliver teletherapy services effectively, demonstrating competency in virtual communication platforms.
  • For SLPA applicants, state licensure or certification compliant with healthcare and school requirements is necessary.
