A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the upcoming school year, starting mid-March through the end of the school year (EOSY). This contract role is based onsite at a middle school in Fredericksburg, VA, serving a caseload of approximately 50 students. This opportunity arises from a maternity leave coverage and may have potential for renewal due to typical personnel changes over the summer.
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience working in a school setting with a school-age population, preferably middle school
- Strong ability to manage a caseload of up to 50 students efficiently
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP) is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and assessments for students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs
- Provide direct therapy services tailored to each student's goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with school and state regulations
