A contracted Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Hondo, TX, for the spring period with two elementary schools needing coverage due to maternity leave. The assignments require professional expertise working with school-aged children and providing comprehensive speech therapy services either in-person or potentially via teletherapy, with a preference for on-site support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing speech-language pathology services to students ranging from approximately 50 to over 95 in need
  • Supervising Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to ensure quality support and continuity of care
  • Preparing and participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to support individualized educational plans
  • Collaborating with school staff and families to promote effective communication interventions
  • Adapting services as needed to support both in-person and virtual learning environments when applicable

Qualifications:

  • Valid Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience working within school settings, preferably with familiarity in teletherapy delivery
  • Ability to supervise SLP assistants effectively
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for comprehensive ARD participation
  • Willingness to work on a contract basis during the specified periods

Assignment Details:

  • Silos Elementary: February 1 through April 30, covering maternity leave for approximately 95+ students
  • Potranco Elementary: Estimated March 10 through May 30, covering maternity leave for about 50 students; opportunity to support as part-time or collaborative role with existing SLP supervision
