This position requires a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work in a school setting serving students in grades K-5. The role involves working with a center-based program dedicated to students with intellectual disabilities, some of whom use assistive communication devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments.
- Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to collaborate with educators and parents.
- Deliver direct and indirect speech therapy services in accordance with each student's IEP.
- Adapt therapy approaches to meet the unique needs of students with intellectual disabilities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and progress.
Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with young children, preferably those with intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to use and integrate assistive communication devices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within an interdisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations regarding IEPs.
Schedule and Location:
- Full-time, five days per week.
- Located in Hudson, Colorado.
- Contract position.
