A Kentucky-based K-12 school is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support early childhood education with a focus on preschool and kindergarten students. This contract opportunity spans the current school year, with potential for extension based on mutual interest.

Location: Lexington, TN
Schedule: 4 days per week, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (includes a 30-minute lunch and dedicated time for planning and assessments)
Caseload: Approximately 30-35 preschool and kindergarten student files
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 25-26 school year with possible continuation

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP - CCC, SLP - Pediatrics, SLP - CFY, or SLP - School) or appropriate licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA - School)
  • Experience working in school or pediatric settings
  • Ability to manage a caseload of early childhood students independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with students, families, and educational staff
  • Commitment to onsite therapy; teletherapy is not applicable for this position

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services to preschool and kindergarten students
  • Complete evaluations, progress monitoring, and documentation in compliance with school policies
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other education professionals to support student goals
  • Participate in planning and assessment sessions within the work schedule
  • Ensure the therapy environment remains conducive to learning and progress
