In this unique part-time contract role, you’ll provide specialized support as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist – Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT). Perfect for professionals holding the LSLS Cert. AVT, this position is ideal for an ASHA-certified SLP, Audiologist, or Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) who holds a current California state license in their discipline.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid LSLS Cert. AVT (Listening and Spoken Language Specialist – Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist) certification required
  • Active California state license as an SLP, Audiologist, or TDHH
  • School-based experience or background working with students with hearing and spoken language needs is highly valued
  • Excellent assessment and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one assessment for Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) services for an assigned student
  • Determine the ongoing appropriateness of AVT services and document findings clearly
  • If continued therapy is indicated, deliver monthly 60-minute direct AVT sessions on an ongoing basis
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and other specialists to support the student’s listening and spoken language development
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date service and progress records in compliance with school requirements

This role offers a part-time, flexible commitment—just one 60-minute session per month—allowing you to balance other professional or personal interests. The setting is supportive and encourages multidisciplinary collaboration.
