Apply NowA Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available within an Early Childhood program located in Milford, DE. This contract role for the school year offers the opportunity to provide specialized speech and language services to children ages 2-5 in early intervention settings, supporting their communication development and educational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in early childhood students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Deliver direct therapy in individual, small group, or classroom-integrated formats.
- Consult with educators, parents, and support staff to incorporate speech and language goals into daily curriculum.
- Monitor, document, and maintain records of student progress adhering to federal and state guidelines.
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition planning.
- Support inclusive classroom models within early intervention and preschool special education programs.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices and legal standards in speech-language pathology and early childhood education.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure and/or certification (e.g., ASHA CCC-SLP, CFY eligible, or appropriate state credentials).
- Experience with preschool-aged children in public school or early intervention contexts preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, early literacy, play-based learning, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education eligibility processes.
