In a vibrant educational environment in Chicago, IL, a full-time specialist is sought to provide essential support to K-12 students. This full-time position runs from August 18, 2025, to June 3, 2026, focusing on fostering communication skills in children with diverse needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement speech and language therapy plans tailored to individual student needs.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments to identify students' speech and language challenges.
- Create detailed reports based on assessments and observations to inform IEP objectives.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to discuss students' progress and strategies for support.
- Provide therapy in areas such as assistive technology, social language skills, and articulation.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license and Professional Educator License (PEL).
- 1-2 years of experience as a SLP, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration.
- Ability to adapt and problem-solve in a dynamic educational environment.
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities is a plus.
