An opportunity is available for a skilled professional with expertise in speech-language pathology within an educational setting. The position is located in Shawnee, OK, serving a diverse K-12 student population. This contract role spans the entire school year, allowing for sustained engagement and impact on students' communicative needs.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Valid state licensure and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with special needs
- Strong assessment and intervention skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and interdisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of IEPs and related school policies
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' speech and language needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct therapy services to students requiring speech and language support
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate students’ communication goals
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate records of services provided
- Engage parents and guardians in the therapeutic process and provide insight into their child’s progress
