A contract position is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services during the Extended School Year (ESY) program in Newark, NJ. This role focuses on supporting students primarily between the ages of 3 to 8 years old, spanning PreK through 8th grade. The assignment begins in July and offers consistent morning hours, ideal for professionals seeking part-time work within a structured school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group speech therapy sessions tailored to the developmental needs of students.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation aligned with school and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and educational teams to support student communication goals.
  • Participate actively in ESY program meetings and planning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Experience working as an SLP in school settings, ideally with young children and a diverse caseload.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage a caseload of approximately 25 students.
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet individual student needs within a school-based program.

Schedule and Location:

  • Contract position for the ESY program starting in July.
  • Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Located in Newark, NJ, serving students from PreK to 8th grade with a focus on early childhood populations.
