A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to cover a maternity leave at an elementary school in Chesapeake, VA. This contract role is scheduled from September 25, 2025, through December 18, 2025, providing valuable support to young learners in need of speech and language services. The position requires on-site work, engaging directly with students aged in the elementary school range, and delivering comprehensive assessments and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in elementary-aged students
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support student progress
  • Maintain detailed documentation and reports in compliance with school policies
  • Manage a caseload full-time (37.5 hours per week) for the duration of the contract

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current, active Virginia Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
  • Experience working in school settings, specifically with elementary-age children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, families, and education teams
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while providing high-quality therapy services

Location:

  • Chesapeake, VA (Virginia Beach area), specifically Grassfield Elementary School
