An educational opportunity is available for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) serving students in grades 7 through 12. This contract position covers a maternity leave from February to April, providing critical support to a high school setting located in Ojai, CA.
This role involves working with a diverse caseload of students, some receiving speech-only services, while others require comprehensive special education support. The position is designed for a skilled professional with expertise in speech and language development and intervention.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Certification as an SLP with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) preferred
- Experience working in school settings with middle and high school students
- Ability to deliver both speech-only and full special education services tailored to individual student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators and families
Primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting evaluations and assessments to identify students' speech and language needs
- Developing and implementing individualized intervention plans
- Providing direct therapy sessions to students individually or in groups
- Collaborating with special education staff and participating in IEP team meetings
- Keeping accurate records and progress reports consistent with state and federal guidelines
