Providing comprehensive speech-language support in a K-12 school environment located in Pittsford, NY, this contract role extends through June 25, 2026. Preference is given to full-time candidates; however, part-time professionals with relevant expertise will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy addressing a variety of communication needs including speech, language, fluency, voice, and articulation.
- Conduct screenings and administer formal and informal assessments to identify student needs and current performance levels.
- Analyze assessment data, collect case histories, and observe students within educational contexts to inform intervention planning.
- Participate actively in Committee on Special Education (CSE) and Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) meetings, assisting with eligibility determinations compliant with New York regulations.
- Collaborate in the development, annual review, and, when necessary, revision of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or preschool plans, specifying appropriate goals and service delivery methods.
- Implement individualized therapy plans in various settings including pull-out, push-in, and classroom consultation models, utilizing tools such as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) techniques as needed.
- Work closely with classroom and special education teachers, families, and other service providers to coordinate therapeutic strategies and support.
- Maintain detailed documentation of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports in compliance with IDEA and New York State education laws.
- Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements, including maintaining relevant credentials such as NYS licenses and TSSLD certification as applicable.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to uphold best practices and fulfill state-mandated continuing education.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC).
- Experience providing services in K-12 educational settings.
- Knowledge of New York State special education laws and regulations.
- Ability to deliver both direct therapy and consultative services effectively.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
