Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations. Develop accurate diagnoses based on assessment results.
  • Treatment and Education: Implement evidence-based therapies for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. Monitor and adjust treatment plans while educating and supporting patients and families on disorders and treatment strategies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid Maryland state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or license-eligible.
  • Certification: Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist, with certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (CCC-SLP).
  • Skills: Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, and electronic health record systems.
