A school district in San Jose, CA is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a contract role supporting an elementary school with students primarily in Transitional Kindergarten through 2nd grade. The position begins January 5, 2026, and runs through June 12, 2026, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
The role involves working directly with a diverse caseload consisting of Speech-Only, Resource Specialist Program (RSP), and Special Day Class (SDC) students. The focus will be on providing in-person speech-language services tailored to the unique needs of young learners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language evaluations and assessments
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other support staff to support student communication goals
- Documenting progress and maintaining accurate student records
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary team discussions
Desired qualifications:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist license or certification
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children, especially TK-2nd grade
- Familiarity with working across various student groups including Speech-Only, RSP, and SDC
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with school staff and families
- Ability to deliver services in person and manage a dynamic caseload
