Apply NowAn exciting opportunity is available for a skilled speech-language pathologist seeking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic K-12 environment. Located in Georgetown, DE, this position spans the 2025-2026 school year, serving a diverse population of students from kindergarten through high school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and provide therapy for students with speech sound disorders, addressing issues such as articulation, fluency, and voice/resonance.
- Assess and treat language disorders affecting both receptive and expressive communication, focusing on areas like phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics.
- Support students with social communication challenges, helping them navigate verbal and nonverbal interactions and conversational norms.
- Provide services for cognitive-communication disorders, targeting skills such as memory, attention, organization, problem-solving, and planning.
- Assess and treat swallowing disorders (dysphagia) to ensure safe and effective feeding practices within the school setting.
- Deliver aural rehabilitation services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, fostering effective communication strategies.
- Implement and support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for students with significant language impairments.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to integrate communication goals into the curriculum.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current Delaware Professional License as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience with AAC and swallowing disorders is an advantage.
- Previous experience in school settings is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and problem-solving abilities to adapt to diverse student needs.
