A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity is available for a K-12 school in South Portland, ME, on a contract basis for the current school year. This position focuses on supporting students with speech and language challenges through comprehensive evaluations and individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough speech and language evaluations to identify disorders in students
- Develop and implement personalized therapy plans tailored to student needs
- Provide targeted therapy sessions to address speech and language goals
- Monitor student progress closely, documenting outcomes and adjustments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators and healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care
- Engage families in the therapy process, providing education and support
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience working with pediatric and/or school-aged populations strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to collaborative teams
Additional Requirements:
- Must maintain an active license approved by the State Board of Speech Language Pathology in Maine or obtain one prior to starting
- Possession or pursuit of a Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology
