A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in a K-12 school setting in Tacoma, WA, offering a contract role for the current school year (CSY). This opportunity involves working directly with school-aged children to assess and support their speech and language development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of students with speech and language disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver targeted therapy sessions aimed at improving speech and language skills
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress consistently
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate student care
- Engage and educate families to support the therapy process at home
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure approved by the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology in Washington or eligibility to obtain
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
This role requires an active license and/or the ability to obtain licensure in the state of Washington. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professional competence and a passion for helping children improve their communication skills.
