A public elementary school in Watsonville, CA, is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2025-2026 school year to provide in-person services. This contract role runs from January 5, 2026, through June 12, 2026, requiring 37.5 hours per week. The position focuses on early childhood education, working primarily with TK through 2nd-grade students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized speech therapy services to a diverse student population, including Speech-Only, Resource Specialist Program (RSP), and Special Day Class (SDC) students.
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and implement targeted therapy interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district policies and state regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to student care.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist credential or license.
- Experience working with elementary-age children, especially TK-2nd grade.
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders within school settings.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt therapy methods to meet the specific needs of diverse learners.
