A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated professional in an engaging elementary school setting located in Des Plaines, IL. This role focuses on providing essential speech-language services to students, fostering their communication skills and overall development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or be eligible to obtain one.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a school setting.
- Ability to adapt and collaborate within a team to meet diverse student needs.
Location:
- Des Plaines, IL
- Contract position in an elementary school environment.
- 37.5 hours per week, with the school year running from August 2025 to May 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students’ speech and language needs through diagnostic testing.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), setting clear objectives and accommodations.
- Provide direct support to students, helping them engage in classroom activities and develop essential skills.
- Create and maintain comprehensive assessment reports and progress documentation.
- Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and support staff to promote students’ communication development.
