An elementary school in West Hartford, CT is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide full-time, in-person services from December through March, with the possibility of contract extension. This position requires delivering comprehensive speech and language evaluations and therapy within an educational setting, supporting students’ communication development and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Location: West Hartford, CT
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week (8:20 AM – 3:40 PM)
Duration: December through March, option to extend
Setting: Elementary School, In-Person Only

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough speech, language, and communication assessments using standardized and informal tools.
  • Determine eligibility for special education speech services under IDEA.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education program (IEP) goals.
  • Provide direct therapy (individual and group) targeting articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic/social communication, fluency, voice/resonance, and AAC.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including service logs, progress notes, evaluation reports, and compliance with IDEA and Section 504 regulations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, occupational and physical therapists, psychologists, and other school personnel.
  • Support classroom strategies and provide communication training for staff and caregivers.
  • Participate in early intervention screenings and RTI/MTSS speech-language support initiatives.
  • Maintain professional licensure and certifications, including Connecticut SLP license, CSDE educator certification (Endorsement #061), and complete required continuing education.

Qualifications:

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP - CCC).
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP - CFY) preferred.
  • Valid Connecticut Department of Public Health SLP license and CSDE educator certification.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in school settings.
  • Knowledge of IDEA and related educational regulations.
