A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide support services within an elementary school setting in Kansas City, KS. This contract position runs for the full school year and involves working closely with licensed speech-language pathologists to assist students with communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing speech and language therapy plans under the supervision of a certified speech-language pathologist.
  • Support students in developing communication skills through individualized and group activities.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate therapy goals within the school environment.
  • Participate in meetings to discuss student progress and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Valid SLPA certification or licensure as required by state regulations.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
  • Ability to follow treatment plans and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.

Location:

  • Elementary school setting in Kansas City, Kansas.
