A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support K-12 students in a school setting located in Marlow, OK. This contract position spans the full school year (NSY) and offers new graduates a chance to begin their careers while making a positive difference in students’ lives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or an eligible degree to qualify as an SLPA
- Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure as an SLPA
- Experience working with children; school-based experience is advantageous
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators and families
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes and educational regulations
Responsibilities:
- Conduct student assessments and develop tailored therapy plans to address individualized needs
- Deliver direct therapy services that focus on speech and language development, fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities
- Partner with teachers and school staff to implement classroom accommodations conducive to student success
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy approaches when necessary
- Participate actively in IEP meetings to contribute toward setting educational and therapeutic goals
- Offer guidance and resources to parents and caregivers to support student development outside the classroom
