This position seeks a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support K-12 students within a New Mexico school district. The role is full-time, onsite, and contract-based for the 2023-2024 school year. The SLPA will deliver both direct and indirect speech-language services aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), contributing to their communication development and educational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech-language support to students as outlined in their IEPs
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff, maintaining professionalism during high-stress or crisis situations
  • Travel between multiple school buildings to deliver services as required
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication regarding student progress

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from an SLPA program
  • Active SLPA certification in good standing
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Flexibility to work onsite exclusively; virtual work is not available

Location:

  • Based in Melrose, New Mexico, serving K-12 school settings
