Speech Therapy Assistant - Oakland, CA

A part-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available to provide support to the current Speech-Language Pathologist in a K-12 school setting located in Oakland, CA. This contract role runs from ASAP through the end of the school year (EOSY), with the potential to extend into the 2025-2026 school year.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in delivering services to students across grades K-12
• Support speech and language therapy sessions by implementing treatment plans
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure effective communication and learning strategies
• Help document progress and maintain accurate records of student performance
• Adapt and modify activities based on individual student needs under the guidance of the SLP

Qualifications:

• Experience as an SLPA in a school environment preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility to work two days per week, approximately 14 hours total, with some flexibility on specific days
• Commitment to supporting students’ speech and language development
