Located in Round Lake, IL, this contract role offers an opportunity to support K-12 students through specialized social work services. The position requires a dedicated School Social Worker to split their time between a high school life skills classroom and a transition center serving students aged 18-22 with additional support needs. This role is onsite, with no remote work options available, and runs through May 26, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide social work support to high school students in the life skills program.
  • Assist students aged 18-22 at the transition center with individualized support plans.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to address student social-emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Conduct assessments, develop intervention strategies, and facilitate access to community resources.
  • Monitor and document case progress and maintain compliance with school district policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid PEL (Professional Educator License) with a focus on School Social Work.
  • Proof of degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Proven experience working with K-12 students, particularly in special education or transition services.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within educational settings.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
