A school-based social worker is needed to provide specialized support for students aged 18-21 in a K-12 educational setting located in Laurel, MD. This contract opportunity is for a community school year (CSY) duration, requiring a commitment of 28 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized counseling and social services to students to support their academic and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and community agencies to address students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to students’ unique circumstances.
  • Advocate for students’ well-being and connect them with necessary resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Maryland Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential.
  • Experience working with adolescents and young adults, particularly those aged 18-21, in educational or clinical settings.
  • Strong knowledge of social work principles, child and adolescent development, and school-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support student success.
