A school district in Lawrence, MI is seeking a dedicated, onsite Social Worker with expertise in school settings to support students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. This contract position runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 35 hours each week, offering consistent, structured hours during the school calendar.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required
  • LMSW combined with 310 certification preferred
  • Experience working within K-12 school environments
  • Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education processes
  • Ability to handle a caseload with approximately 190 IEPs district-wide
  • Knowledge of how to complete evaluations and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs); experience helpful though most are already completed

Responsibilities:

  • Provide social work services addressing students’ emotional, social, and behavioral needs across grades K-12
  • Support students by implementing interventions and collaborating closely with educators, families, and outside agencies
  • Assist with ongoing case management for students with IEPs, ensuring compliance and appropriate support
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to development and review of IEPs
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and interventions in accordance with district and regulatory requirements
