Supporting student well-being in a K-12 setting, this full-time role focuses on delivering essential social work services within a school environment. Operating Monday through Friday with weekday hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Mondays and 8:00 am to 3:15 pm Tuesday through Friday, this position is situated in the Oneonta, NY area and operates on a contract basis for the current school year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing individual and small-group counseling that aligns with student IEPs, 504 Plans, and Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions as identified through the MTSS Committee.
- Collaborating closely with families to connect students with community resources supporting emotional and mental health.
- Participating on the counseling team to assist faculty during crisis events involving student dysregulation or emotional distress.
Desired qualifications:
- Current and valid New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification or active pursuit of LCSW licensure with supervision if licensing is pending.
- Alternatively, possession of New York State Certified School Social Worker (C-SSW) credentials.
- Completion of mandated reporter training in compliance with New York State education regulations.
- Completion of approved fingerprinting and background clearance as required by NYSED.
- Documentation of Sexual Harassment Prevention training per NYSED guidelines.
