This full-time Contract Social Worker position is available for the remainder of the school year, from January 1, 2026, through June 12, 2026, serving a K-12 educational environment. The role is based in South Lyon, Michigan, and is dedicated to supporting elementary students in two school buildings. With a focus on mental health and social-emotional development, this position provides essential services to approximately 27 students across a resource room and Level II classroom with varied eligibility areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering individual and group counseling services to students
- Conducting assessments to identify student needs
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement intervention plans
- Addressing behavioral, emotional, and social challenges affecting student achievement
- Connecting families with community resources and support
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid Social Worker certification/license relevant to school settings
- Experience working with K-12 students in school environments, preferably with special education eligibility categories
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work full-time hours; part-time applicants will not be considered
