Social Worker in South Lyon, MI

A full-time school social worker position is available to provide support for students during a medical leave from January 5, 2026, through April 3, 2026. This contract role serves a K-12 setting with a focus on self-contained classrooms at the Level III complexity, primarily supporting students eligible under Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Cognitive Impairment (CI) designations.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing social work services tailored to meet the individual needs of approximately 32 students
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized plans
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting strategies to support social and emotional development
• Assisting with behavioral interventions and crisis management as needed

Qualifications desired:

• Experience as a school social worker, preferably within K-12 settings
• Familiarity with working in self-contained classrooms, especially with students diagnosed with ASD and CI
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and support student welfare effectively
