A contracted social worker position is available to provide telehealth and in-person social work services within a K-12 educational setting in Plainwell, MI. This role involves supporting special education students who have social work services included in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The assignment spans the current school year, offering 20 hours of work per week.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering social work services to a caseload of 10 special education students via telehealth and onsite visits as needed.
  • Collaborating with educators, families, and service providers to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and providing input on intervention strategies.
  • Supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs within the educational environment.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Licensure or certification in social work according to state requirements.
  • Experience working with special education students, particularly those requiring social work interventions.
  • Familiarity with telehealth delivery methods and ability to engage students effectively through virtual platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of K-12 educational environments and relevant legislation regarding special education.
