A licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) is needed to support students at two elementary schools in Waterbury, CT, on a contract basis throughout the current school year. This position involves providing vital social work services directly within an educational setting, addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students to promote their overall well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to develop and implement intervention plans
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment strategies tailored to student needs
- Provide crisis intervention and support as necessary
- Facilitate communication between the school, families, and community resources
- Maintain accurate case documentation and comply with all confidentiality guidelines
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential required
- Experience working within school settings preferred, particularly at the elementary level
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students and school staff
- Ability to manage a split caseload across two school locations
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in school social work
